Leicester City could be involved in a “risky exchange” deal with Real Madrid in January, according to reports from Spain.

A number of European giants are reportedly keeping an eye on Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, including Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old Belgian international has made 10 appearances in all competitions this season, providing two assists and a goal for the Foxes.

Tielemans still has over a year left on his existing Leicester City contract and is tied to the Foxes until at least June 2023, but his impressive performances have made him a wanted target across Europe.

He made 51 appearances in all competitions last term, scoring nine times and contributing six more goals in assists.

Most notably, he scored the winning goal against Chelsea in the FA Cup, winning the Foxes the historic competition for the first time in the club’s history.

The midfielder’s impressive form has had a number of clubs taking an interest during the summer, including Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were reported to have a heavy interest in the midfielder and, with that rumour somewhat falling away, talks over a new deal are now ongoing between Tielemans’ representatives and Leicester City.

Now, however, Catalonia-based outlet ElNacional claim Real Madrid are “very interested” in Tielemans. It is said that his ability to play anywhere across midfield makes him an attractive prospect to Los Blancos.

The Spanish reports also add that Tielemans’ arrival would result in Casemiro departing the Bernabeu in what ElNacional describe as a “risky exchange deal” to sign the Leicester midfielder.
