Real Madrid have been linked with a possible move for Manchester City outcast Pedro Porro. The Spanish right-back was signed by the Citizens from La Liga side Girona in the summer of 2019 for £9million.

However, he was sent on loan to Real Valladolid soon after signing, before being loaned to Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon the following season.

Despite making 44 appearances and contributing six goals and three assists for Sporting, he has never been fancied by Pep Guardiola.

The 22-year-old right-back has not even made a competitive appearance for Guardiola’s side, having found himself behind the likes of Kyle Walker, Joao Cancelo, and Danilo.

His exit from the Etihad Stadium is effectively already sealed, as the reigning Portuguese champions have a right to make his move permanent at the end of next season.

The agreed fee is estimated to be around £7m, and it is believed Lisbon have first refusal on the dynamic right-back.

However, the Portuguese side’s sweet deal could become even better, as according to Portuguese outlet OJogo, Real Madrid are very keen on signing the Spaniard.

Lisbon’s right to first refusal on the City loanee will not be affected as they have that privilege until 2025.

But, they could sign the promising defender and then sell him onto Los Blancos for even more money.

Transfermarkt’s current valuation of the defender is £18m, which will be almost three times the fee they will pay City for his services.

It would be a very handsome profit for Ruben Amorim’s side, as the transfer saga will either finish with the Leoes signing a player who has already proven himself at the Jose Alvalade Stadium, or they will possibly sign a player who will generate a substantial return.

Either way it is an astute piece of business from the Portuguese side, considering O Jogo said he was “never counted on” by the City manager.

Manchester City are currently full in the right-back area with both Cancelo and Walker proving to be outstanding options.

Both players are often deployed at the same time, with Cancelo proving to be equally adept as a left-back as well as a right.

They were both instrumental in Manchester City’s vital 1-0 away victory against Chelsea in the previous game-week.

It was a stellar performance from the Citizens at Stamford Bridge, as Gabriel Jesus’ deflected effort was enough to secure a valuable three points.

Guardiola’s side’s victory against the European Champions saw them leapfrog Thomas Tuchel’s team and fierce rivals Manchester City into third place.

They next face two consecutive away matches, beginning with a nerve racking away trip against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League, before traveling to Anfield to face Jurgen Klopp’s ferocious Liverpool side.

The victory over the West Londoners was the first success in a difficult trilogy of matches, and the reigning Premier League champions will need to be just as good, if not better, to overcome PSG and the Reds.
