La Liga Matchday 3 will see Real Madrid travel to face Real Betis with both teams looking to bounce back after disappointing draws last weekend. Real drew Levante 3-3 in a wild match where Los Blancos were a man up late, while Betis drew Cadiz 1-1, starting the league season off with consecutive draws. This is the final league match for both before the international break.
Here’s are storylines, how you can watch the match and more:
Betis: After scoring all those goals in preseason, including three against Leeds and five against Roma, the team has produced just a goal a game early on in the season, with one of them being an own goal. After zero shots on frame on Matchday 1 against Mallorca, they were able to produce seven against Cadiz but lacked sharpness, especially when in space. Borja Iglesias, the team’s top option at No. 9, needs to get going at some point as he’s produced just nine non-penalty goals over the last two-plus seasons.
Real Madrid: A poor defensive showing against Levante raises concerns, but it wasn’t the new centerback pairing of Nacho and Eder Militao. Lucas Vazquez, a natural winger, has been playing right back and really struggled. At fault for two of the goals, don’t be shocked to see some changes from Carlo Ancelotti next time out. Dani Carvajal should slide back into the starting XI without question as he becomes available. The attack is doing what it needs to do, but they need to clean up things at the back right away. Only Alaves have given up more goals than Real Madrid through two games.
